setting up QT for keeping sps

Ok, my 120 has been up and running now for about 4 months, after its cycle i added a small monti cap, an acro, a monti digitata, a small birdsnest frag and some zoa frags, all are small. My main goal for this tank was sps and zoanthids, but today i noticed the bottom of my monti digi and the bottom of my monti cap have white patches , i then found monti eating nudi's..... anyways tomorrow im going to setup a qt tank so i can remove the monti's and if theres any nudi's left in the tank they will die of starvation. Im trying to figure out the best setup for a cheap and easy qt setup, i was initially thinking a 40 breeder but the bigger i go the bigger the lights will need to be, so now im thinking just a 20 long as i have a 4 bulb t5 fixture thats 24" long.

Heres my question, what type of filtration should i use? an hob? should i get a small hob skimmer for it? or just do frequent water changes in the qt? Flow for a qt?

I've got a little 10g with a 10g sump for my QT - all done with skimmer & lights for about $250. I found a 10g tank I could get drilled on the back, and plumbed it right up with the 10g sump. There's currently a Koralia 2 (I think) in it. The size of your QT just depends on how many corals you plan to have in there at once. Of course, bigger = better for stability. Oh, I also use a HOB filter and run GFO and/or carbon through it...cheapo way to have a phosphate reactor.

But, that's just my setup. Cheap, small, easy to maintain...I'm happy!

Ya that would work fine I use a 65 gal plumbed to the main sump I use my old tek light

since your qt is hooked to your main system doesnt that defeat the purpose of qt? Isnt the point of a qt to "quarantine"?
