Setting up Tank

I am getting ready to set up another tank and I would like to know if anyone uses plywood underneath their stand to level their tank. In other words do they put the stand on top of a sheet of plywood and then level the plywood with shims under it. I have set up many tanks and never did it that way but wonder if it's a better way to set it up to level the tank.

Thanx

But the quarters fit so nicely under the legs of the metal stand and i didnt have any shims on hand :)
Knuckle head huh? Is that what hapened yesterday when you sprung the news? LOL

vyger, I would not do that. I would think it unstable, especially if the plywood gets wet a few times and delaminates at all.

It's an Oceanic wood stand. I know what you mean about the plywood getting wet, that could create a problem. I had read this(about useing the sheeof of wood) on another forum (MR) and had never done it to level a stand and was wondering if I had been doing it wrong all these years just leveling the stand itself with shims!!!I'm sure I could just level the stand without the plywood beneath
