Setup help for 35 gallon sump on 120G

New to the sump business as I have been running a 90 gallon
with strictly live rock for 7 years. Looking at upgrading and wasn't
real sure how to load up my sump...I've gotten as far as inlet/skimmer at one end and building baffles...return pump at other end and refugium in the middle. Should I just fill the middle with live rock
and crushed coral or is this the wrong way to go...
What is this CHEATO all about??

Please help.

You can add live rock to the extra spaces if you like, it can only help, right? I would avoid the crushed coral though, it isn't doing enough good to warrant the detritus trap that it becomes.
Chaeto is a very tough algae that is grown to absorb nutrients from your water. Good stuff.

Thanks for the input barbra. I will skip the crushed coral and look
for some beneficial algae. The live rock has been in my tank for 7 years so I was hoping to just dust it off and use it in my sump.
Hope this is the way to go.
