I'm looking to purchase 2 sexy shrimp for a 10 gallon tank that I'm setting up and 1-2 coco worms for my existing 45. Has anyone seen them at a LFS? If so, do you remember the price and size?

Do any of you guys make and sell some phytoplankton? Or if it's easy to make can you steer me in the right direction. Not looking to make much, a little will last me a long time.

Aquatica in Tinley Park had sexy shrimp but it was around a month ago, I don't remeber the price I want to say around $15. They are cool shrimp but you may want to get more then 2. They are very small.

How many sexy shrimp do you recommend for a 10 gallon tank......there will be 1-2 fish in there.

I have read that they like to be in groups of 3 or more. I would say at least 3 maybe 4. Here is a few pictures of mine to get an idea of the size and this is the bigger one the other one I have is alot smaller I couldn't find it to get a picture.

DAMN!!! That's small......but I'd definetly like that for my 10 gallon. If I was to buy 4, I guess I'd be better off doing it online somewhere (cheaper).

Thanks for the pic.

Ocean Design had about 5 of them about 2weeks ago.
I think it was around $10-15.

I called ocean design right before closing time and they have 3 available at $15.99............ Got to give it a couple days since I'm still waiting for some stuff to come in from big al's.

I exchanged emails with Jeremy from Premium Aquatics and he said he can have some in next week. Also has a coco worm in stock so I'll be getting both in next week hopefully.

How about phyto, anybody out there willing to sell some of their homegrown stuff or can help me with a lil DIY?

I used it a while back andmight resort to that but it's expensive for just a small bottle.

@Jcar1, how many sexy shrimp should I add. Do you think 5 is too many for a 10 gallon tank? I know they are small but I'm thinking of adding 2 fish (clowns or 1 clown and another fish) and I would hate to have a huge bio-load on such a small tank.

Tank will be filtered by a penguin 100b and 20 lbs of live sand and about 15lbs of LR.

I would say start with 3. I was reading on live aquaria and it said max size 1 1/2. If they get that big 5 might be too many. Mine aren't near that and I had them for about 6 months. If they stay small you can always add more.
