Hey,
Im from the bay area, and i have a zoanthid dominated tank. I like to avoid shipping costs though. So i like to go into walk in places more than order online. Its also a plus when you get to see things with your own eyes.
I'd like it if you guys could help me create a list of places to find good zoanthids, also it would help if you could post some info. They can be big LFS, traders, or small time dealers. Please add anything you know.
i'll start.
Aquarium Concepts, Dublin = Gets in some cool zoanthid colonies every once in a while. Expect to pay around 40-60 for a colony. Everyonce in a while someone will trade in a rare zoanthid frag.
All About Fish, Pleasant Hill = About the same as Aquarium concepts when it comes to zoas, except they keep them in one tank, which is easier to look at all the zoas at one time. Last time i went there they had colonies from 30-70 dollars.
Lucky Goldfish, SF = gets in some really great zoas, including a whole bunch of redwines and tubs blue zoas right now. But he charges top dollar for them. 30 bucks a polyp for the wines. He does frag all of his colonies though, and you can call in to have him frag ahead of time then come pick it up.
Rommel Lunn from ultimatefrags.com, San Jose = hes got great zoas, high prices. You can make walk in appointments to see all his stuff under your own eyes. i bought from him and was happy with what i got.
