I have a pair of reidi Sh now, i'd like something to eat the leftover that happens sometimes of the mysis shrimp when i feed. what would be a good fish to clean it up off the bottom
I'd go with some nassarius snails and some peppermint shrimp. If you want a fish, clown gobies will usually eat mysis, but they aren't a scavenger or bottom feeder.
Peppermint shrimp are great for that as well as aiptasia control which is a plus. I always like to have a sand sifting goby in my systems. I'd recommend the twinspot or one of the watchman gobies, they're great at it. JME
As long as you don't care about having inverts in your sandbed. IMO the small life a sandbed supports are an important and integral part of your aquarium filtration. They consume and break down detritus etc into tiny particles suitable for digestion by bacteria and are important in moving this food into the sandbed where it can be processed.
also remember if you get a M+F pair of peps, they breed readily so your horses will have pep babies to eat every once in a while.
peps are hard to sex so it's a numbers game in getting a pair. buying 3 gets you 75% chance i think (i'm rusty on my high school math)
