Shallow 2 foot reef

just something to consider. switching to black tubing on that reactor. those clear tubes are known for growing algae in them and clogging/slowing the flow thru to the reactor...
 
I really like the dimensions of your tank and the scape as well. You dont see many nano's this clean looking who dont have a sump or an All-in-one. I think once get my GFO reactor and get all my basic parameters in order I may look into Zeo. Every zeo tank ive seen has incredible color.

What is that makes your sand look blotchy? Is it the angle or beam of the light. It almost looks like uniform little pockets in the sand

the blotchiness is the shimmer from the kessil light. Ive thought aout going full zeo but id rather keep my system simple

Great, clean look. It almost looks like there isn't even glass encompassing the water...seriously.

I haven't done a whole lot of research on Zeo but is it basically just coral food that you target feed? Or is it just a trace element supplement?

Zeo is a comprehensive method, not simply food. It uses zeolith stones in a reactor, carbon dosing, GOF, coral food, supplements, and a lot of observation

I'm just using 4 of their products, coral vitaliser which is a food, Pohl's extra which is amino acids plus other ingredients, and two supplements for colour.

Here's some top down pics of my sps. As you can see I have a dictyota problem which is really starting to take hold. It came on the live rock and despite manual removal, and trying to starve it out, I've never been able to eradicate it. I'm now trying Algaefix Marine as I've read some good results against this annoying and invasive macro. I gave the second dose today so hopefully it goes. I've already noticed it's starting to look a bit droopy which is a good sign I suppose.





 
Just an update on my dictyota algae issue, I can happily report that the use of API algaefix over the last 2 weeks has resulted in a substantial thinning of this algae with not a single negative response from other aquarium inhabitants. During my water changes I've been siphoning the algae area which comes off in large clumps. Overall I'm very pleased with this product.







 
Just another couple of recent photo's with long exposures to reduce shimmer on the pictures. Not much change to report other than I added a Jebao RW4 recently for more flow.

Edit* The Algaefix completely eradicated my dyctoria issue without a single negative affect on other inhabitants, which is both fantastic and amazing!

Not getting into Zeo because I'm aiming for success using a simple setup. Plus this hobby is expensive enough already without the cost of a full blown zeo system
