That shallow tank is amazing. I always loved shallow wider tanks, they make a lot less go so much further.

agree. theyre a great way of providing maximum aquascaping real estate for minimum water volume. I also like the way the livestock interact with the aquascape more rather than spending most of their time in free water

My problem is I can't get their reactor in my rear chambers.
Nice tank. Mine is the same height as your with 2x 360WE's. Do you have any acans in your tank? Mine seem to not do well under this light. I've seen others do well with them but mostly in deeper tanks.
Right now I actually turned down my intensity to about 30%. My water depth in 250mm and the lights sit 500m above the sand floor. Colors decent on two but not what they were originally and ones just turned all orange.
Running Zeovit as well and my SPS are starting to come out nice. Only frags atm though.
What camera settings are you using? How did you compensate for the heavy blue from these? Set the kessil color to a slight blue? Did you manually setup a white preset on your camera?

Time for an update. Some of my SPS have lost colour, some have gained or changed colour, but all are still alive and growing though. I've also added some new specimens and changed the scape a bit too. But I definitely want better SPS colour though, so I've decided I'm going to use some recent birthday money to try a full zeovit system. I've got the basic 4 plus a hang on skimmer and zeovit reactor from fishstreet coming in a week or so. Here's some pics
Well its now been 3 weeks since I added a hang on back skimmer (bubble magus Q3) and converted my tank to a full zeovit system, and I'm beginning to see clear signs of colour improvements in my SPS already. At this stage I'm only using the basic 4: zeolites in a reactor, Zeostart3, Seachem carbon and Zeobak. My first impressions of the zeovit system are that it is pretty easy and simple (to start anyway), and certainly not cost prohibitive for a smaller tank. The additives may be expensive but the dosages are tiny so they last a long time.

Another update.
- Got rid of my sand. It was really annoying me, blowing everywhere, starting to become discoloured and collecting detritus.
- re-aquascaped into one single bromie. So far I'm pretty happy with it
- Got a hanna ultra low phosphorus photometer. Last measurement was 0.006 ppm
- Some of the corals are becoming quite light, but have excellent polyp extension, so I'd say I'm at or near ULNS. I've started to dose Coral vitalizer and Pohl's extra in moderation.
- I purchased a maxspect gyre xf 130 which I installed this arvo. So far I'm running it at 60% pulsed every 3 seconds. Any more powerful and the water spills over the top of the tank. So far I'm very impressed with the pattern of flow

Beautiful tank, thanks for sharing! I love the dimensions and the fact that it's a top-down system.
There have been some debate about the polyp extension with zeovit, that one of the supplements is actually a feeding stimulant that artificially gets PE, not that it's from low nutrients. I used to figure it was from the bacteria from the zeolith media, but not sure if that holds true.
I'd love to try zeovit, but just never had the access to my old tank to do the required daily dosing, and now I don't want any hangover filters since I kept the hood on my cube.

Is the tank glass or acrylic?
With the sand removal, are you simply using a hose to vacuum out any detritus?
What about star board, do folks still use it ?

Interesting debate. From my perspective the polyp extension improved while only using zeolites, zeostart and zeobak, no actual supplements. I was also using coral vitalizer and pohls extra months prior to starting the full zeo system and the polyp extension on supplements only was no different. So I would say my experience shows the drop in nutrients is the cause for improved polyp extension, not any supplements.
