Shallow sps tank question

Was thinking about getting the deep blue 80g shallow tank 48x24x16. I have never had a tank shorter than 2ft and was curious what you guys opinion on only having around 16in high tank, and I figure water lvl will be around an inch below the rim. This will be an SPS dominated tank.

Plan on having these for equipment
x2 mp10qd
curve 7 skimmer
x2 reef brite hybrid 250w with 20k radium bulbs.
bare bottom tank maybe a lite dusting of sand
basic apex
DIY 30breeder for a sump
and of course heater Return pump

Any things else you want to know just ask.

I have a deep blue 45 frag tank 3x2x12. It was hard to turn up the mp10's enough to get flow without them sucking air. I would say tunze or gyre for a shallow tank. The mp's flow is broad and they end up pulling back the water they just pumped out and nothing reached the other end. I ended up floating Styrofoam over the pumps so they couldn't pull air. Nice for a look down tank though.

have a DB 60g, mag 7 return with a WP-40 and two sunsun 1050gph? Still have dead spots. Stick with the MP40's IMO mp10 won't be enough. Have an 8 bulb T5 on top with a DB 40g frag beneath with a skimmer and 4x24w T5
