shameless begging: Live Sand donations?

Hi, guys. I'll be moving my tank on Saturday. It currently has crushed coral for the substrate, so I'll be starting with a fresh (dead) DSB. I'm also going to build a new sump/fuge for it as well. With only about 30 lbs of LR in the current system, this means there will be virtually zero biological filtration at startup.

I'll be getting rid of the current livestock so they do not have to endure this new startup or my learning curve.

Anyone willing to provide a bit of live sand for my new substrate or macroalgae for my sump would be greatly appreciated.

I won't need this until next week after the tank is set back up.

Thanks,
Mark

If you want to make the drive up to Nevada City, I'd be glad to help you out with some sand and Chaetomorpha from my refugium.

Thanks, I'd rather avoid the use of gas to make the trip up there, but I really appreciate your offer. If I'm unable to acquire this locally, I'll hit the road. Maybe make an afternoon of it and take my wife out to lunch up there.

I could give you a little of both, sand & Chaeto. I also have a swing-arm hydrometer you can have, although I'd urge you to get a refractometer for long term use.

Let me know.
