shards of glas inside MH bulb...

I have a mh bulb that has a couple of pieces of glass inside of it, it looks good without any cracks or anything on the outer part but I am still reluctant to use it, anyone with this experience and is it safe??... I know that the box says to not use it if the bulb is cracked in anyway but its not the case, just a couple of pieces inside tha glass but I dont know where it might be from..??? any opinions?...

Might be hard to see, but I wonder if some of the shards broke off from within the ribbed side of the bulb.

Is it a 400w Radium? If so, nearly every Radium bulb I've seen has that problem. I've used 4 of them with such symptoms and all of them have functioned properly and have not burst or anything like that. Hope this helps.

It's inside the envelope, not the tube where the arc is, right?

its inside the envelope and not outside, I just cannot find out where it might be from, Karl I am thinking the same.. I am guessing the ribbed side as well. Also this is an XM bulb
