Share your mantis-capturing stories

I'm trying to get the last mantis out of my main tank and into my 2nd tank before I get my 2nd shipment of LR and critters. I moved the homes of the other two mantis to the 2nd tank already because I couldn't catch them with my bottle trap.

I ask you to share your stories so I can be educated on how to catch them and also because these guys are just plain entertainment.

Examples: How long did it take? What type of trap used and if bought, where? Do you have a separate mantis tank? Any special bait used?

lol - the separate mantis tank is pretty funny - a lot of snap, crackle, and pop all day coming from that thing. It's like they are building Rome in there...

i didnt really "catch" my mantis. i got sick of trying, took the rock out that had the mantis in it, and gave it to a LFS employee because he wanted a mantis tank.

Mine was really easy to catch, just scooped mine into a jar with a credit card. Of course he was next to dead from the ammonia spike but still it was quite easy.
