Shedd Aquarium in Chicago (pics)

Chicago is host to IMAC again. Anyone around here going?

If you sign up for the weekend they are offering a behind the scenes tour of the John G. Shedd Aquarium- a truly fascinating public aquarium located on the Lake Michigan shoreline.
We visit the Shedd every other year or so and I thought I'd tempt you with a few pictures...

Check out the list of speakers at IMAC 2005 (in the link above) and remember- there's a discount for RC members but you need to contact Dennis at the email addy included in JohnL's sticky at the top of the URS forum.

Nice Pics Gary, I was there last year and did the "Behind the scenes"

It was very cool! It was a bit rushed thou, from exhibit to exhibit. But I was very grateful to have the experience...

Here is a few pix that I took... Enjoy...

The system the Achillies were in was the shark tank.. I think something like 100,000 gals The coral tank is I wanna say 4,000 gals? or 2500?

I think the Achilles are relatively new additions. They definitely were NOT in the shark display when I visited. It's a really big display tank......but I would have noticed. (They're some biggun's!)
I wonder if Steve S. sees your Rhinopias pic.

I trust ya, buddy. At least you're not located in Gary, IN.
What a name for a stanky place that's full of bowling alleys and cheap porn shops.

FWIW, a friend from Chitown whose visiting this summer just Emailed me that Southwest is starting service from Midway to Buffalo--95 bucks round trip. That's less than an average trip to the LFS!

Wonder if they let you take bone clippers and baggies on the behind the scenes tour....

John
