Sherman Tank is re-opening

My guess would be, he is referring to bringing it back from the dead (necro)

New search engine works great. I did it on purpose and I knew how old it was when I did it. Whats the big deal with bringing up an old one? Same topic. I'd rather do that than start a whole new thread. Is it bad for the forum hard drives or something? Is it bad for the server?

I was not ragging on you. I have no problem with you bringing back this thread from the graveyard. It was very nice of you to inform us all that it is no longer open. It will save some people a drive and the grief of showing up to a sign in the window. I hate when a shop closes and i have made the drive all the way down there for nothing :thumbdown

okay. I thought you were hammering me - I was confused.

The store is/was only about 1/2 mile east of me. I hadn't been in there in a couple months. Drove by today on a whim and the place is cleaned out. 4 walls and a concrete floor is all that's left.

Yep, it's definitely closed, however, according to their website it says:

"Gone out of business. Want to know our new location? Sign up for the email newsletter below"

So it sounds as if they may be opening back up somewhere else? Sherman Tanks has had more going out of business and grand openings than any business I know.

Marc is Bi-Polar from what I remember him telling me. He is actually a decent guy once you get to know him. I'm sure he will get going again. It wasn't his choice to move from Federal Blvd. They redid the whole area and he wasn't a part of the plans. He got mad business there and when he moved, it was just never the same. I also think he got in a bit of trouble with Oceanic for selling the tanks for a lower price than he was selling to other store as a distributor. I got a killer deal off of that though. :)

I have had both good and bad experiences with Sherman, though not much of either in the last 2 years. There wasnt really much there.

This place always has and always will suck. I hope the never reopen.

where do you work so I can tell everyone that place sucks!!! How does it feel? I wouldn't ever do that because it's not right. Grow up, keep the negativity to your self.

Isn't this forum about expressing your opinions? I have been to all of his locations and always saw below average livestock and the worst service I've ever experienced at any store. Get a life and let people express their opinion, you just might learn something. The only reason he has lasted this long is because he has stayed on the north side of town and he sells below average livestock at low prices. Most times you get what you pay for.

Not to offend you Msoar but what is "below average Livestock?" A skinny cowfish? or do you mean he was selling kenya tree?

I mean sickly looking fish and unhealthy corals. I guess I'm in the minority when I want to buy high end coral and fish, that is why it's hard for most Lfs to stock the nice stuff.

I have never personally been to that store but in Moes defense i had a local fish store in frederick and all of his tanks were dirty and the fish had parasites. I talked to the guy to step up the maintence and i will purchase from him but he didn't and eventually shut down. Like i said never been to sherman but there are definetly some bum stores out there.

I went there once and bought some livestock. In my opinion I would rate it below average but that was based upon my single experience with them. I have been to Aqua Mart, Aqua Imports, Neptunes, Todds, South Broadway Tropicals, Fish Den, Reef N Pond, Keys Island, Fish Palace, Oceans Apart, and Tropical Fish Wholesale. I would rate Sherman somewhere near South Broadway Tropicals or Fish Palace.
