I just crush the stem of the plug with some large pliers. Works pretty well. Diagonal pliers work really well too on those ceramic plugs.

Actually as I think about it i took the video before I turned them off......

It Looked to me as if they were turned off but I wasn't sure. If they were on and that's all the flow you have you probably should look into adding more/stronger powerheads. JMHO
