shiming stand's

My 29g (under construction) is a little unlevel in my basement. It sits on carpet w/ no pad under it. The Front sits 9 -13/16 and back 10- 3/16. I don't want it affecting my overflow.Im sure its easier that its in the basement.

Can i just place 3 small wooden blocks across the back, and try different sizes unill its level?

....And my sump sits behind it in the landry room is unlevel because of the drain. They are off by small amounts as well, however, it's not evenly distributed. The front right is down more so then the front left.

Will different sized shims put to much stress on a longer stand like this?

Use the plastic shims, wood can compress and shrink in time.

They also have nylon locking shims in the plumbing department. They are normally used to shim toilet fixtures.

which would be better to level out my 120? I have a glass cages Oak stand and a AGA 120. the floor is slightly off.

I have a AGA 120, level the stand not the tank, anyone but wood!!!!!!
