Shimmer, Halide, and Halogens

Would a Halogen bulb provide the same "shimmer" as a halide bulb?

Not concerned about par, spectrums, coral growth, etc...

This is for a FOWLR and just want to get the shimmer effect.

I think any single point light source will provide the shimmer you are looking for. Halogen will probably look extremely yellow to orange. Like a 3K T-5

Check these out, there a 6500k so there a little yellow but with a couple atinics they look awsome and give a great shimmer effect.
I got 5 of them over a 180 with 4no t5 atinics and im very happy with the look plus there only 16watts is a bonus
