Shimmer?

What causes some LED's to "shimmer" more than others? From some videos it seems this effect is quite different for different lights. Looking at LED options and just wondering.

Shimmer is something you're going to see with intense point-source lighting. A lot of light coming from a small area, such as LED clusters or metal halides, will give you that flickering shimmer, typical of the shallows, while more diffused lighting, such as T-5s won't shimmer, but instead will mimic the more even lighting of deeper waters.

Thanks for the advice. I'm leaning towards the kissel unit but didn't know what others may have the same shimmer effect
