shipping clams

HI all.

Just wondering what the methods are used for shipping clams.
Which methods, how long, how successful.

How long transit time can clams tolerate?

Is full immersion in Water the best method?

I'm looking at getting some shipped to me.

To answer your questions:

Yes, fully submerged in water.
Usualy it's shipped overnight via airplane
FWIW, they leave mature clams out of water for a few hours to induce spawning. I once recieved a clam in a bag that had a leak and when it arrived it was dry and pretty much dead.
