"Shopping Basket" Reset

For some reason the "shopping basket" on your website purges itself fairly frequently. I had to resort to saving everything in a "wish list" so that I did not have to search for all of the items over and over again.

Most web-stores hold items in the "shopping basket" for quite a long time (perhaps indefinitely) - but I found myself logged off of your site on more than one occasion, when I was away from the computer for a bit (even during the same day). I'm not sure if it is the way your system is set up, or if it might be an incompatibility with the browser that I'm using.

Perhaps I'm the only one that gets frustrated with this, but I thought I'd share the feedback.

I still placed my order, though :)

I'm sorry about the shopping cart problem. Right now it's set to purge at 36 hours, but I think there is another setting we are not finding that is purging even sooner. The reason this program does purge is if the item has inventory set on it, like in our clearance section for example. When you add to the cart, it makes it unavailable for anyone else to buy, so if someone was just looking and changed there mind, would make it impossible for anyone else to come back later and purchase. So not the best system unfortunately.

The good news though is we are working on a major upgrade that shoudl be done in probably 4-6 weeks. I'm not sure if it will have this same purge problem, but it will have a much improved save to basket feature. You can save your entire shopping basket as a wish list to share, or just to save for reorder later and you can just do a one click to get all the items back from your saved to your live cart easily. It will be much more user friendly then our current basket/gift list system.
