Thank you, I take great pride in my tanks! My tanks are the only thing i spend money on, except for the power bill and such!

Amanda, does the sunpod fixture have an internal or external MH ballast? Is it an electronic or magnetic ballast?

Nope, never. Not in the 75 nor when she was in the minibow. She is too much like a lazy dog I think. :D

Glad you moved the enchio frag. Those guys can be mean when they want to be. I do think the candycane is a little too close to the lord. You can play it out and see how it goes, but I'd try for at least 3-4" if it's possible.

Robster, the ballast is internal, it's all one piece, just plug and play.

Mary, I didn't get the tiny Nudi out, I can't find it now! I guess I'll wait to see if a coral is looking bad to see where it is.

Amy thanks so much for the tip. I did epoxy the Monti cap down, the the Echinois loose, I can move it anywhere. It's so big, much bigger than I thought it would be. I wonder if I can snap it in half and trade the other half in??

Amanda, I've decided to downgrade order a Aquapod 150W kit from Nanotuners. I plan on moving everything from my 37 cube to the nano with the exception of some of the sand. I have a 4" sandbed now. Other than stress I am hoping that cycle time won't be needed since I have established live rock and live sand and pleanty of water. Your thoughts? I like the clean look the Aquapod will give me. No hang on back overflows and sump, skimmer, and other crud crowding up the stand. I plan on adding a hang on back CPR refugium at some point since I have a light for it already. What temp is your tank running at? Are you using a heater for night time? How much water evaporates each day? I like your idea of using the Remora. I have an Urchin now and love it. I read somewhere that AquaC is working on a Remora nano. I am going to try the cheesy Current skimmer for now in hope that the AquaC nano Remora rumor comes true. I use to follow your 75 gallon thread heavily back before you got your nano and back when RJ was still running his acrylic tank. Why did you end up getting rid of the 75? Too much work for a busy mom? I remember at one point you were considering a 200 gallon tank. I have done the big FW tanks and have slowly dowsized over the years. One last question. What size Aquaclear pump is that you are using inside the tank? Did you pick that pump for any specific reason?

Rob, I think the move will go smooth, there should be little to no cycle at all! With my nano cube set up with MH, my temps runs between 78 and 80 degrees. Not only do I NOT use a heater, I have been thinking about a nano chiller. I lose about 1/4 - 1/2 gallon a day from the MH and open top. I sure hope Remora comes out with that nano skimmer, I have been waiting for over a year now. I got rid of my 75 because I got pregnant and I couldn't keep up with the weekly water changes. I have an aqua clear 30 pump in my main tank.

I'm looking for orange and red colors to add to the tank, anyone have any suggestions?

I spoke with Steve at AquaC yesterday and he said that the nano version is just a shorter version that allows it to be hung on the back of short tanks such as the 10 gallon or 20L. He said initial testing hasn't gone well. It puts out too many bubbles. They are working on testing with different pumps now.

I think it would be cool if you could mount the Ice Probe right into Remora. Not sure if that would impact the performance or not. I will run it by Steve to see what he thinks. I ordered my Remora today. I am hoping I will have a little bit of room left over to hang a custom refugium on the back (8-10"). I also ordered a maxijet 1200 to use in place of the cheesy Current pump and picked up a Oceanic 30 cube stand at Pet Smart on clearance for $69 that will be perfect for the Aquapod and allow lots of room for storage. I'm going to have to make some shelves to hang inside.

The only thing I can think of that is Orange is plate coral or Red montipora.

Hey Rob! They make a nano chiller for like 120. so, I was thinking of that one, the only problem is, there is no auto shut off, it just runs constantly.

Hi Amanda,
It is truly great to see you back. You have been my saltwater hero. Congrats on the baby! I have been watching your threads since before the beginning of your 24 gallon cube. Anything you do is absolutely beautiful. I originally got really hooked on your threads because I liked your black sand. I have the 12 gallon cube and been considering upgrading to a newer aquapod or nanocube with the moon lights and skimmer. Can you tell me after having the black sand what you would say is different than the lighter color regarding care and maintenance. I know you are meticulous with cleaning and H2O changes. Do you think it looked dirtier than the lighter color and was it harder to keep clean? I just wanted advice from someone that has lived through it. I absolutely loved the look of your original 24g but your new one is awesome too! Please give me your thoughts.
Thank you,
Sharon

Hi Sharon, I remember you!!!!! My good friend lives in Berkley too, off Catalpa. DO you work out of WBH?

I loved the black sand and the look of it. The problam I had was that little pieces of white would work their way off or out of my live rock, giving it a salt and pepper look rather than a true black which is what I wanted. Also, it was great at covering up any algae on the sand bed. I'm glad you are posting on my thread!

Good morning my fellow reefers!!!!! I hope you all had a nice Valentine's Day!

Today I am receiving 2 shipments. 1 From Dr. Mac (4 corals) and another from That Fish Place. The bulb on my tiny clamp lamp went out already, so I orderd some more along with a digital thermometer with alarm if it gets too hot or cold.

I'll post some pics of my shipment as soon as I recieve it, but for now, here are just a couple I took yesterday.

I learned a little trick with keepig my RBTA bubbles full, and that is, a little food each day. Not a ton of food, just a little. I know when I got it, people told me feed it once to twice a week. I personally felt this wasn't enough and so fed 4 times the first week. The days I had fed it, it's bubbles were full, the days I didn't they were just straight tenticles, not bulb, so I feed a little each day and it looks beautiful. I wish I would have had a RBTA in my 75, I had no idea how cool they are!
