Short skimmer for limited space

My sump/fuge has limited height. I have a 17 inch high skimmer in there now, approximately 3 to 4 inches (it's tight) to remove the cup. I have been researching the tunze 9010 but I really don't think there is room to remove the cup. Any other brands out there you would recommend?

Some of the shortest skimmers are the Tunze Classic DOC 9205 and 9210 skimmers that are 8 to 9 inches tall and require only 2.3 inches of water depth (http://www.tunze.com/149.html?&L=1&C=US&user_tunzeprod_pi1[predid]=-infoxunter029).

Marine Depot has them. Scroll halfway down the webpage: http://www.marinedepot.com/aquarium_protein_skimmers_tunze_doc_comline_nano_classic.asp?CartId=.

The disadvantage of the Classic DOC is that you may have to mount it to the rim of your sump tank instead of letting it rest on the bottom.

the tunze 9010 is really short, I have one and it is 17 inches tall and takes only a few inches to remove the cup. Check it out, it might fit the bill and it is an excellent skimmer:)

this is for your 75gal tank? Also have you thought about putting in a external skimmer?
I did think about it, I already have an external circulation pump, and there is no room with that and the sump/refugium length wise.

Aqua-C Ev 120 or 180 will fit. The 120 is 18" tall and the 180 is 20", but they only need about 1/2" to remove the cup. I love my Ev-240, especially since I upgraded the injector (free from Aqua-C, great C.S. from them too!)
