Should a skimmer be consistent?

Some days I get a cup and a half. Today, the bubbles have been 6 inches below the top. It's a reef devil deluxe

Mine isn't consistent each day but I don't feed the same amount or type of food each day. I also like to skim dry.

I think if you have the same routine each day it should be relatively consistent.

i think it will vary not too much though.

I have a reef octopus hob style and it varies every day. Heck it varies throughout the day. I figure its normal.
