should I cut this fish's fin?

This Oscar picture is the best I could do. I googled pictures of fins and got something close.
 
Honestly, if it's like the pic above, it looks like it could heal by itself. On the pic above, the bone doesn't looked to have broken through the skin, the wound is further back on the fin from where the bone is.

If the fish is swimming and able to eat, and control it's movement, let nature adjust for these changes.

You aren't able to get a photo of this injury. And now you think you are capable of catching, capturing, holding, sedating, slicing, recooperating a fish that isn't showing any signs of being traumatized.

If the fish had lost its ability to control swimming than something heroic might be warranted. But I think right now testing your surgical skills would be unkind to the fish.
