Should I get a chromis for my 29?

I was asking at another site - the one that's all about nanos - if I should add a chromis to my tank, and I got some negative responses. But after doing a search here, I don't really get the same impression at all.

What does the crowd here say? Any downside to this fish?

Aggression, gluttony, jumping, size issues?

I've had one jump, but rogue members of any species will turn up. The two I had in my 29 were model citizens with a much too large fish population in my very first saltwater tank. They do get pretty large (5+") for a 29 in the long run, so keep that in mind. I really loved mine. Out of interest, what did the members of other forums say?

The downsides they mentioned were aggression toward clowns and YWG (I have neither however) and gluttony - sucking down all the food before the smaller/slower/shyer fish.

Were yours the common blue/green variety? Those are the ones I was considering. For whatever it's worth, LA puts their max size at 3" - although even that is too big for me. I'd probably want to remove the fish once it topped 2" or so.

Yep common blue green chronic. And mine never got that large, but if you look at some of the tank of the months on RC's homepage alot of people have them about the size of anthias. They are long lived so it should take a few years before they outgrow your tank if you have a good home to donate them too. Chromosome are excellent swimmers, so I can see their advantage over slower swimming fish.

I have a blue green chromic in my 20 with absolutely no problems. They should be kept alone though with other non aggressive fish. I have mine with a cardinal, a clown and a purple fire fish.

Get em small. I had a big one and a smaller one. The big one over time started bullying the smaller one. Also the big one ate my xenia. Maybe he was the black sheep of the batch...other than that they are very calm and friendly towards other fish
