Should I get a RBTA?

I would really like to get one and I have researched up its requirements which I can match, so do I get one and where should I put it because I don't want it to sting my other corals while it tries to find a good spot to live in my tank. Any advice? Thanks

It depends upon the maturity of your tank, your lighting and flow.

How long has the tank been set up for?
Do you test for water parameters regularly?
Have those parameters been stable for the past few months?
What kind of lighting do you have?
What kind of flow do you have?
Also do you have the room for a bta?
Most people recommend 20-30 gallons.

My tank is very mature and I also have my sps corals growing fast which is a good sign. All my parameters are good and stable. I have the ecotech radion and the vortech mp10w es. I can make space for it as It moves around the tank. Thanks for your help!

Go for it! The only thing is that they will move where ever they want. So be prepared to move other corals around until it finds a spot it kikes

if you have space, you can designate a separate rock for it away from the other rock structure and glass. if it can touch the glass or other rockwork, it can most likely move to that part. good luck.

I got brave and transferred one of my BTAs to my mixed reef a while back. I loved the brightness mine brought to my reef, and it stayed in the same general area for a long time. Then, in a period of less than 16 hours it moved across about a foot of rock work, stinging everything along the way. Killed my duncan. Now it is back in it's own tank again.

I have heard that, too, but assure you that is not the reason in my case.

I am a chronic over-feeder. I give them silversides and live black worms and they are fat and happy.

Z's N P's- Is there a possibility I can get it to settle on the glass of the tank which is near where my clownfish is currently settled in the corner?

If a rock is just surrounded by sand the rbta wont move off the rock? How much of a sand buffer zone would it take? I like the idea of being able to tell my rbta to sit and stay.

I will see If I can epoxy the rock it comes on to the glass, because that will look really cool!

they just like to move. but once they find there perfect spot they tend to stay there.
