need some help here guys and gals. i currently have a 90 gal lps only tank with a vortech mp40w. i do not think my corals are very happy with the pump. the pollyp extension on my corals mostly euphyllia is just no as good as it was before the vortech. my frogspawn darn near closes up even when it is turned less than half way up. i am seriously getting a 6055 with a single controller and putting it in the back corner pointed toward the front center. how does everyone like their tunze? basically i need some help deciding what to do. i know i wont be able to get the wave like a vortech but as long as i can get very random flow ill be happy. tell me your stories about the tunze and how they are in your tanks, especially anyone with lps dominated tanks.
thanks so much
john

Euphyllias like very gentle, indirect flow, if they are getting direct flow from a Stream, they won't be any happier than they are with the Vortech. If you just recently added the Vortech, it would be fair to give the corals some time to adjust, any change will cause them to not expand. It is a fine line, too much flow and they won't open, but if the flow is too low they will likely succomb to infections over time. In general, I would use powerheads with a smaller flow cone so instead of being in the flow, the flow will pass by them and they just get a gentle "breeze", alternatively you could put them in a more sheltered location. The 6055 will work but I think you would need 2 to get and you may need to move the corals and pumps around. The 5001 powerheads would be another option.

i just feel that with how wide the flow is on the vortech there reall are no lower flow spots. just flow everywhere. if i got a tunze i would put it in the pack corner pointed at the center glass. that is how i had my koralia 3s. i got rid of them because i wanted something controlable. i am really torn because i like the vprtech. i have had it in there for about three weeks but i had it out for a couple days and had only a koralia 3 ond the pollyp extension was better than it has been in a long while
