Currently i have a 4 power heads in my tank and i am still getting dead spots. I just don't think my tank is getting the flow it needs. I read somewhere that a mp10 would be able to handle my 60 gallon and two would definetly be able to handle my 60 gallon tank. I was thinking of getting one for now and maybe getting another later. I have a 60 gallon tall tank btw. Sorry dont have specs right this second as i am at work.

Any input on if i should do this and if so where is the best place to buy one?:spin3:

I have a 57 and am considering an MP10 as well. I expect you will receive questions for more details on your tank. :)

Tagging along. :fish1:

I was running four powerheads, but only two at a time in my 125. I just replaced them with two MP40s. Will they improve the health of my tank? I honestly can't say for sure but I am impressed with them so far. I have noticed that when used in nutrient transport mode my 'clean' tank had lots of junk floating around that had settled on the bottom.

As far as prices everyone sells them at the same price. However, a number of online vendors will have a 10 - 15% off sale during holidays. I just purchased my MP40s at 15% off from That Fish Place during the fourth of July. I've also seen sales from AquaCave, Bulk Reef Supply and I'm sure a few others.

I think that it really depends on the dimensions of your tank. If your tank is long, you might need a little more, but if it's a cube, I think you'd be fine (but 2 would be better.) These powerheads have a lot more flow than people think as well- check out this article from Advanced Aquarist:

One may be ok but imo if youre keeping any type of corals that demand high chaotic flow i would suggest two. I have an mp40 and a Tunze 6045 in my 75 and there's tons of flow. I have my mp40 dialed back to less than 50% on lagoon mode so 2 mp10's should be good. Kinda wish I would have went went two MP10's instead of the 40.

you cant go wrong with an MP10 or MP40. both are awesome. lots of flow. I have a 90 with one of each, that thing is a cyclone, often too much actually. for your 75, depending on how strong your return is, id use two MP10's. I am constantly impressed by the power of the MP10.

good luck!

I have a 57 gallon Illuminata and run two MP10 on either side. I think if you are going to run one you can try with the MP40.
