One of those squishy things? ..

Well I been wondering about a certain area in my tank , I have a 2 1/2 inch sand bed and my streams never blow "out" that corner during the day so i didnt really know what was going on .

I added new sand and redid my rock work earlier today , and went to work waiting for the sand storm went away . I get back tonight and look inside the tank ( no lights ) and the "fatter" of the clarkii babies ( I bought 2 babies im guessing they paired up , due to one being larger with more orange and the other a little smaller - its been a year- ) anyway the larger once is on her/his side in the corner just slowly wiggling , I am guessing she/he keeps fanning out the corner .. The other clarkii wasnt around .

Is it common for them todo this ? and do mostly females do it , or is it natural for males too also ( he likes to sleep against rocks )

I have mostly all sps besides some zoo's and acans , I didnt want to add a aneoemeomenome cause they get fairly large and can be unsightly in a sps dominated tank in my opinion .. but if the little guys are lonely I guess I should .

What do they normally cuddle up against in the wild? what type ? ... I do have to admit anemones do look kinda comfortable though , like a lazy boy recliner for fisheees?

mostly it is the females who show this behavior but sometimes the male will contribute. There is really no reason to add an anemone. They might be quite happy to host a surrogate in that corner. Try GSP, mushrooms, goniopora, feather dusters, big PVC tee, terra cotta pot, just about anything.....

Scratch the goni off that list. Very bad choice.

There's no guarantee that your clowns would even host in an anemone if you added one.
Have you thought about some star polyps or hairy mushrooms or something?

no no , they have hosted before but it got turned into ground chuck by the power head .

Was just curious as to what their natural ( clarkii ) uhm hostie thinga ma jig is .
