Should I HYPO the main tank or the QT for ich

I have another post that asks this too..but need advice asap so am asking it here too.

Is it less stressful/beneficial to do hyposalinity on my main tank with inverts and LR removed into a tub

OR

Do hypo in my QT where my fish are, with ich, and just leave the main tank fallow for 2 months. (but I dont know if I trust this)

The second option is the better one. Too much collateral damage can be done to the substrate with hyposalinity in the display.
