Should I keep him?

Hi everyone. It seems that this is likley the place to go for a mantis shrimp question. I have been keeping one mantis shrimp (at least one that I'm aware of!) in a small 5 gallon hex tank for about the last 2 months... I never saw it do anything except hide under a rock, however I still found it to be an interesting creature. The problwm I now have is that I bought two dwarf seahorses and have no safe place to keep them exept for the mantis tank. I now have a mantis shrimp in a bag and I don't really want to get rid of him. The only options that I can really think of are to either put him in my sump (which I'm not exactly too keen on, as I don't like worring about getting slashed when I'm working in there, as well as the fact that I have a pretty heavy duty pump in there with no cover on the intake, and the thing might get sucked up and die a horrible death in the spray bar) Or i have a small 2 1/2 gal show tank that I could set up. If I was to do this, would I need to worry about it much? Would I have to heat it? I could rig up an overflow and plumb it into my system I suppose, but this tank is pretty small and it will be a pain in the @$#... Any advice? I am also wondering if there is anywhere I can go to identify this little critter... I don't even really know if it's a slasher or a smasher.... I've never been able to get it to eat. thanks a lot!

Sorry I don't have any pics to help with an id, but here is a quick description: It is about an inch and a half to two inches long, has a mottled, beige/brown and whiteish colour. I don't see a Smasher on his claw, but I don't really see a slicer either. I don't know if this is any help, but it's about the best I can currently do. thanks again.
BTW, he is still in a bag, so I can get a goo look at him, if there are any identifying marks to help id him, now would be a good time!

hey if you have any mantis you dont want i have 2 tanks up and ready for the little guys just cant find anyone or anywhere that has them
