i got some FL rics on tuesday from sealifeflorida. i have them on the sandbed but they are not really puffing up there color is good but they but there not opening up big and puffing up. should i move them up closer to the light? i have a sunpod 150w HQI with a 14k phoenix bulb.

give them a lil more time...they will..the same thing happens to me when i move one from one tank to another..

im thinking they might like more light tho i have regular mushrooms up high in my tank and they are growing like crazy and really thriving.

ok i moved them and it was almost instantly that they opened and plumped up maybe it was the flow since my lights are not on yet ill see how they act onces the lights come on.. but the thing is the top part of my rock is where theres real low-flow so thats where they have to be put witch also make them closer to the light.my light is hung i dont use the legs so its about 6" off the tank. i also sent a message to Ken from sealifeflorida and he said to move them closer to the light they love light they come from fairly shallow water and are photosynthetic, so they will thrive in a well-lit aquarium. i asked if i should put eggcrate on the tank for about a week he said i dont need to but i can if i want to so i did im gonna leave it on for a week then remove it. i think when i get more rics from him ill just put them at the top and use eggcrate to acclimate them.

yea there looking great now ill post some pics later. Ken from sealifeflorida said they keep them in a green house where they get alot of intense sunlight and they thrive. i have one more question if they were to ever touch zoas would there be a problem? im just wondering because i have a colony of zoas a few inches away from them.
