Should I trade my lights

I have 3 AI sol whites about 4 month old and I'm wondering if I should consider trading for a t5 fixture but I'm not familiar with t5 and I'm going to have a sps dominated tank

What would be a good even trade for my light and should I even do it,

Because everyone is unsure what Corals will do with LEDs and t5 is a proven fact

everyone? really? not to sound harsh but maybe you need a little more research. but if you want to go t5 I would highly recommend an ati light fixture with at least 6 bulbs.

After switching to LEDs recently, I have sometimes regretted my decision and thought of putting my old T5 setup back up, so I understand your question. IME, an ATI fixture with 6+ bulbs makes for nice color combinations and good intensity.

I don't think he was bashing but by this statement it sound like you are making a decision by others statements and not experience. It is a proven fact that corals grow under led. Some have had better or different results under t5. I have grown lots of coral under led and t5. I currently have one AI sol blue and considering going back to a ATI T5 because of the color choices and more even lighting.

Using Tapatalk so signatures don't show sorry if I miss some info.

Okay most, that is why I asked a question for people's opinions not to get bashed and act like its a set deal

No worries.
Keep up and we'll see what happens.
There are people that will tell you the truth, because they can see it.
Others will still need to have some experience with the LEDs.
Perhaps many didn't even had a good T5 fixture, so they cant' compare.
It's not their fault. They've spent lots of money on their LEDs and they need to defend their back.
Time will tell us anyway because facts are facts.

I can tell you that I have ATI PM for years and I'm very happy with them!!

I think LEDs need another couple years to develop. Thats my opinion and that is based on having a mixed reef tank for over 5 years and not jumping on every bandwagon that comes around.

Both work to grow sps but you need to have the right led fixture. There are a lot of people going back to t5 from led because of problems. T5 are a proven way to have nice colors BUT you must also have the right fixture as well, like the ATI...NOW that fixture is almost a 100% to have nice colors, assuming you other things are in check.

Some people have also had great experience with LED lighting. Your tone here sounds condescending to those who recommend LEDs over T5s. I have had both. I see about the same growth with both lights. I like the shimmer from the LEDs which T5s don't have. I also like the lower energy costs and lower heat issues (which was especially a problem with halides). I no longer require a chiller which is a huge savings. The LEDs work well in my case but everyone's tanks and preferences are different.

Original poster...if you are not happy with your lights, then yes, definitely consider changing them. But don't just change lights based on 'peer pressure'. Are you unhappy with the performance of your AIs? I just saw a bunch of hearsay in your first post but nothing about your actual experiences with the lights. I personally like my LEDs more than I did my T5s. I get good coloration and growth. I had ATI T5s which I moved to from metal halides. I now have a Vertex Illumina light fixture. You might also just consider supplimenting some T5s with the AIs. If you are having coloration problems, this would definitely help.

I have been running LEDs for a few years. They DO grow coral. I liked them better than the MH I had before. I think that some people that have ran LEDs did not have the right set up/combination of colors or enough LEDs. They are not as easy to set up as a MH or T5 but can produce the same or better results.
