Should i try an urchin?

When i left school in may my roommate assured me he would take care of the tank till i got back. Well needless to say when i got back the fish and corals were still fine but there was alot of caulerpa and other algae and tons of aptasia. I replaced the old LS after i changed apartments with 35 pounds of new sand. After a brief cycle the algae has stopped growing on everything and is just basically just on the rock. There is a little coraline coming through but not much with all the green stuff. My turbos pretty much stay on all the walls and don't touch the rock work. I know the petstore in town has a pencil urchin that is very small that i was considering trying to reduce the algae. Does anyone have any experience with them, are they good algae eaters and is there any reason to qt them?

i don't like my urchins because they are very clumsy and like to plow through corals. but if you don't have corals than go for it.

Unfortunatly i cant do lights out with the anemone in the avatar and due to some soft corals that were growing on the rocks that survived the move. The rest of the fragile stuff is still in another tank. And i have that same problem with the longspine i have in the 150, he is a pain but i thought maybe the pencil because it is very small.

The absolutely best critter I have added to my tank is a tuxedo urchin. I do know if they will eat aptasia - that would be good to know - but as far as cleaning up hair algea and any other unsightlyies, it is fantastic.
