Hello i have got a 40 gallon ( imperial ), aquarium lit by twin 150w metal halides ( 10k xm's ),and i am happy with the results as far as keeping montiporas and hystrix . But i would love to see some aquariums with nice acro's and simmilar lighting. Cheers in advance.

I am running dual 150 watt double ended phoenix bulbs over this 46 gallon bowfront. I do get excellent coral coloration since I switched to these bulbs. I tried the coralife 20k's. Hate em. Slow growth and hardly any coloration. I then switched to the xm 20ks and liked them but I heard the phoenix were incredible. Since I switched. awesome growth and the colors pop too. I have been fragging my corals since. With the other two bulbs I hardly fragged.....

I have NO calcium reactor and top off using kalk driven RO water. I do not supliment the tank except for some iodine and some stronium every other week. I do 5 gallon water changes on this tank bi weekly. I also have a 30 gallon sump under the tank on a reverse cycle with chaeto and a coralife super needlewheel skimmer. My flow is provided by two seio's in each corner.

This tank is a year and a half old..

Hope that helps..:)

Spank.

Thanks....nice tank....I just picked up 2 XM 20K....I like them but it sounds like the Phoenix are the way to go.

I might go back to the Phoenix after trying the 20K Coralife. Not a big fan either. Problem with the Phoenix with me wasn't that crisp. 5 feet away the tank looked great but it looked blurry (best word I can think of) close up. I also was thinking about the reeflux 12K bulb.
