Here we go for 2012
-Thanks to everyone who helped in 2011, to keep the swap and show dates flowing throughout the year.
-Many of you contacted me for help on dates, PLEASE KEEP THAT INFO COMING!!! It helps everyone out from vendors to the clubs having the events.
-Please keep this thread for date/location announcements only
-Some of you have hinted about changing your annual events from Spring to Fall or from Fall to Spring. IF you need any help with possible open dates, please let me know.
-Believe it or not, NICE weather has been an issue for some events. Having the swaps during early December, January, February and early March is NOT taboo! Some have always have their events during those times with very good turnouts AND we have been lucky with the weather. Look over the calenders again, if certain months fill up quick.
-Changes of addresses and dates also seem to be inevitable. A helpful thought from what I saw with some of the clubs/venues last year, is to follow up with venue manager/owner more than once. Also, try and do this 3-4+ months before the event. 5-6 weeks is not enough time to find another location, IF there is a goof up. Of the 3 changes I am aware of, luckily another location was found. Another was able to change dates.
Hopefully, the mistakes can kept to a minimum.
-Also, just a helpful hint and thought. If a few more events could be held on Sundays it would help out the overlapping of some dates. It just won't work for some, while others have always had their events on Sundays. Coordinating the doubled up weekends is a little bit of work, but does help out many of the clubs as well the traveling vendors.
