show me pics of tanks that dose vodka

I dosed for a while. 10ml per day on a 400 gallon system. My trates never budged so I've stopped. My tank always read 7ppm no matter what I do, so I am going to use a different kit to test it. I did notice lighter color on my corals when I used it.

Sugar is cheaper, have you checked into that too?

Yes, candy may be dandy, but liquor is quicker:D

i would show you my tank , however it drank too much last night and was arrested and charged with a dui . too much vodka ..

I have recently looked into carbon sources and their effects and have come to the conclusion that vodka dosing is not a good idea at all. Same with any single source of carbon as this will often cause massive imbalances in the strains of bacteria in your tank. If you want to use a nutrient reducer that is a carbon source I highly suggest you look into dosing the Zeovit ZeoStart2 instead. It has mutiple types of carbon sources in it that is much safer to use. With vodka it is very easy to overdose and have blooms that will depleted the O2 and crash your tank. Zeostart2 is much less likely to do this....

Seriously, vodka dosing is not worth the risk.....if you want nutrient reduction, do it the right way. Be that ozone, super skimmers, zeovit, or whatever...I highly recommend you stay away from Vodka.

thank you for the answer. i was just curious. i test phosphate with seacem test kit it is .02 would like it a little lower. my frag tank test 0 but i have just a couple of peices of live rock in it. i have about 350 pounds of live rock in a 135. i run rowa but i was going to try the zeolites in a reactor like 3 times a week four 4-5 hours at a time do you think this would be ok. thanks josh

horace you sound like my mom!!! LOL...she said the same thing...but instead of staying away from vodka....i started drinking scotch go figure
