show me some plumbing shots

Hey guys,

This is something I never figured would be challenging, but for some reason it just is for me :)

I'm having trouble figuring out how to secure my plumbing properly. I have a varierty of U shaped pipe hangers and clamps, but they fit 1" pvc by itself.... as soon as I throw a coupling, or a T, or an elbow onto the plumbing my clamps are not big enough.

Do you have to build some kind of riser box for PVC clamps so the fittings are elevated off the wall? or is there some other trick?

of all the things I've tried, so far these are my favorite clamps:

, but its a pain trying to find places to secure them because the PVC has to be right up against it.

I ordered a bunch of clamps like this too:

but they ended up being the wrong size and they also seemed very flimsy and cheap, certainly not strong enough to hold steady while I turn a ball valve etc.

Is there a simplified U shaped clamp that will hold the PVC a half inch of so off the wall out there?

and a bonus question... if I have a return pipe come over the tank... normally I would use an elbow. But because so much pipe would be unsecured, I'm wondering if I could instead use a T, and then cap off the pipe ~6" above the T, basically just using that section of pipe to help secure it.

Would that hurt flow?

So any tips or pics dealing with these issues would be much appreciated!

just to kick off the discussion heres a pic of my fishroom and the basic plumbing plan. the plumbing plan is not 100% current as some changes have been made but you get the idea ;)
