show me your 180 gal sumps

I am making my old 180 gal tank 6x2x2 into a sump. And I'd love to see some designs or pictures of some sumps. I am trying to figure out the best plan. Also any suggestions on mechanical filtration.
Thanks

Sorry for the double post. :)

I wish I could do that. I have to take whatever fits in my stand. So many options for you that way. Maybe you can get more ideas if people knew:

If it needs to hold the skimmer in sump

If you want a refugium

If you need to utilize filter socks

:)

Edit - I just saw where you asked about mechanical filtration. I'm a newb, but I do quite a bit of research. I found most people prefer filter socks over anything else. Seems to be effective and the safest method (safer from floods than, say, a sponge filter on the end of your pipes).

I bought my tank already plumbed, and both overflows come together into one filter sock. If I had it to do different (and I might still redo it), I'd have each pipe coming to its own filter sock.

Oh Man - Makes me feel so obsolete and insignificant to think my tank size is someone else's sump - sigh :rolleye1:

That should be a great system! 460 gallons in total - should be sweeet!

i dont have any pictures yet but i am going to set up a 180 gallon sump this weekend on my 210. i plan on having nothing but live rock in the 180. i also plan to have a 75 gallon fuge plumbed in to the system.... if i get it all set up this weekend i will be glad to show some pics! good luck with your build!

im glad to see that im not the only one that has a monster sump.. im running a 120gal refugium/sump on my 220gal main, 80 gal frag tank setup .. only problem is under my main tank its all sump and under my frag tank is were i house my reactor, 40 gal top off tank, 20 gal quarantine tank, all my dj power strips..so cramped in both stands.. already want to make a bigger stand for both

Not a 180 but 6ft 125 and I had to cram everything under the stand.
