Show me your reef(in one picture)

love the solar wrasse. One of those wrasses you dont see in too many reefs but one of the best to keep ond watch. Mine flashes every night whan the tank turns actinic just before the lights go out.

Thanks! Yeah, they are very cool fish. Question though, when you say he "flashes" what does that mean? Sorry, maybe this fish does something i havent seen before??

what this means is that many wrasses flash there fins (extend them) to other fish. the solar wrasses have a beautiful rainbow colored dorsel fin that extends the fishes length that it will extend. mine does this for about 45 min every night.

Thank you All and Ron. It’s just a common sea fan I believe, but my favorite. I got it from a friend in Chicago. I had to trade him a beautiful huge blue sponge, some SPS and some cash to get it and another one. He had them for over 10 years. There are actually two of them; the other is kind of hidden. In the remodel I will bring it forward. They love flow so its hard to find a good spot. He got them as little guys way back then from LA I believe. It actually grows pretty fast. I have fragged it twice in the two years I have had it to keep it in size proportion. If you mean the purple one above that, it is a photosynthetic one I got from my LFS. It has grown and has great white polyps.

As for my feeding, I feed 8 times a day from a auto feeder. You can learn more in the Non-photo forum but basically I have a refrigerator and a peristaltic pump. I feed a mixture of phyto, Fauna marin and Reef Nutrition foods. In addition my fish get fed twice a day and then I feed Cyclops at night. Lots of food and water changes!

Nitrates are less then 5. I change 15 percent weekly. Its all automated, thank God. I also run 3 skimmers and have 5 clams in the tank. The clams love those nitrates. Well really the ammonia but it all ends up there.
