Show me your TOADSTOOLS!

That sarco either has the funkiest looking polyps I've ever seen or its not a sarco. Can you get a pic with the polyps retracted?

Are you talking about mine? If so, I've had a really hard time ID'ing it. I will get a picture of it with it's polyps retracted.

Now that's weird...Even after gently runing my finger over the coral, this is the most it would retract it's polyps.

and now (about a minute later) they are all fully open again.

Still learning as I go along so this question may be stupid. But what is the base and "head" of these leathers like? Is it a firm/rigid skeleton like LPS have? Or is it very soft (go figure) like a Xenia and such?

Leathers are considered "soft" corals; they do not build a hard stony base like LPS. That said, their texture is not "as soft" as xenia; it's more like.... leather. Go figure. ;)

looking at all these im thinking there is something wrong with mine =[. the polyps on mine never retract at all and stays in a dim grey-ish color......mines in a 29 gallon tank, what should be the minimum lighting if its placed at the top? My calcium was very low at one point but i been working on getting it up for the past two weeks and havint seen a change....anyone?
