Show me your wellsophyllia....

some do grow atached to rocks(the ones referd to as wellsos) and the others are solitary growers(to me the typical trachys) the defining feature to me that is differant is that the trachy radiata has a uniform valley in the middle of the coral and the way it is more of a circle than a long skinny coral ?im in no way a expert ijust know that there are or seems to be 2 corals to me?it also may be were they are growing, collected, etc etc etc.but i will say when my list sais wellso and trachy both they are easy to tell apart even for my better half who has only been around corals for 2 to 3 years.they may have been lumped all together but i personally think that there are 2 seperate trachys that we deal with just my 2 pennys.and i would like to thank everyone on this thread for not getting hostile and understanding that as humans we can and will not always think alike and dont have to be rude and hostile when someones thaughts are not the same as ours kudos everyone!!

I second the notion of this being a nice conversation without anger.

It seems to me that the younger Trachs are the ones that don't have much contortion to them. The older they are the more they look like "Welso".
