I have a couple cool videos of that old trigger too somewhere.

is there a min length for a 300g? i could have like a 4' cube, thats around 300g lol. do you mean atleast an 8' tank or something?

Big queens don't like tankmates much, and the smaller the tank the more aggression is likely. I don't know if any of you have been to the Shedd Aquarium, but back when I used to volunteer there they had to remove a full grown QT because it was eating the tails of the rays in the huge Caribbean Reef tank (90,000 gal.) exhibit... They are awesome fish though. I've seen them diving and at the Shedd Aquarium. I'd say at least a 8 foot tank.

dang man its a shame the most beautiful triggers happen to be the least freindly to other fish. at what size do they start to get aggressive?

EDIT: triggerfreak what tank is your QT in? any aggression issues yet?

These are my two triggers. The picasso has been with me for 2.5 years. I got him when he was just a 1 inch baby and now he's about 7 inches. The blue jaw i've had for about 9 months and he's around 7 inches as well. The pics aren't the greatest because they're always cruising the tank.

Looking back at these older pictures, I can really tell how much the queen has grown. I need to get a current picture.

lol recty the undulated i got from you is happy in a tank to his own at a freinds, too murderous for me. hows your trigger tank doing?

so im curious, how much do queens and clown triggers grow in a year? 6 inches?

Recty, those are some awesome pictures and amazing looking fish. I love the queen triggers. Is there anything that can go in a 220 gallon with a queen?

I'd say more like three inches when smaller and once they pass 6-8" that seems to drop off to just an inch or two a year. Definitely not 6 inches...

Fast moving wrasses would probably be OK with a queen. The tough wrasses, like a lunare or a coris.

My experience with queen triggers is very limited, mine is in a smallish tank with very few tankmates and she is young. I wouldnt want to try to keep much with her as she ages, based off what I've read. Make sure whatever you try is fast and tough.

well thats better than what i was thinking :) hows your trigger tank doing? forgot, what other fish are in with the queen?

My latest trigger.

Most of what you see are particles in the water, but he does appear have a pretty decent case of ich as well.

Straight to hypo quarantine for this one.

Recty,
The Undy stalks it prey. :spin3:

I bought a 2.5" dragon wrasse and it lived for 4 days before it was eaten by my 3" CT. I'm kinda upset right now!! I guess no fish smaller than the CT for my tank.
ya laugh at it for now, i bought him off recty and lost some nice fish and corals. now i know undys are best for species only :)
Yeah, I learned my lesson early. I had a undy try and kill everything in my tank back in 1989 and it was the smallest trigger in the tank. It was around 3" and my CT that was close to 7" lost parts of it's tail to the Undy. I agree, they are a species only fish.
