Show your acropora valida (brown, purple)

I have a large colony Its quite stretched out and a fast grower, the tips have really purpled up with the additions of reeflux 12k bulbs, I will post a pic later but I am interested to see others.

here's my ORA A. valida... pretty much a bulletproof coral

this is under Radiums...

Here's the same coral a year and a half ago under Reeflux 10k's... the inner branches were considerably lighter with the higher PAR Coralvue's.

Here is two pics of one of mine, one with just actinic and no flash the other is with flash.

Not as nice or big as rigleauto, but I like it, hopefully it will grow to be a full blown colony, it started as a 1" frag with three tiny branches. It has grown to this in about 1 yr give or take a couple of months.

Have you noticed that they do better with higher lighting, moderate, or low compaired to other SPS?

mine is centered right under a halide and it tabled out nicely and grew fast.less light and they get more thin elongated branches.mine has done better with strong random flow and light.one thing about validias is, they are AEFW magnets.

I started this thread so here is mine. I have it under 12k reeflux 400 watters, after 6 months of 14k BLV the colours under reeflux are better both pics with flash, excelllent grower, wild colony.

It is a Bali mariculture that I have had for almost 3 years.

Dansin - Love the colors. What is you lighting how long have you had it set up?

Thanks, for the most part the lighting is a mix of 250w 10k & 150 w 20k and the tank will be 4 years old next month.
