Shrimp and crabs dead

Hey all,

I recently moved my powerhead to try and get a bit better flow and it kicked up a section of the sandbed a few times. After a day of this I decided it was not a good location and decided to move it back and noticed my shrimp and crabs had died.

Any ideas? All parameters showed 0 and the sandbed is about an inch deep.

It could have released stray voltage. It's a very rare sight but a silent killer not alot of people consiture or think about. Usually powerheads are the cause of it when constantly switched on and off.

What type of substrate you using? Substrate from someone else, brand new substrate?

Vortech? Definitly isn't stray voltage then..

Do you have ANY other inverts in your tank whether it's snails, corals, anything? Even if they're just hitchhikers? Any fish as well?

i would also run a copper test just to be safe, im assuming you dont have corals as the copper will harm them also if you have it present.
