What kind of shrimp did you buy? Many are reclusive at times. Do you have a lot of live rock? What fish do you have? How did you acclimate the shrimp?

how did you acclimate it? inverts like that require long drip acclimation for survival.

A Peppermint Shrimp will hide very effectively and show up weeks after your purchase. It may still show up. If not, I would be prepared to acclimate a new one much longer than 45 minutes. Good luck.

I used to have peppermints in my tank and they only came out at night when all the fish is a sleep. Maybe yours will do that. Plus usually hangout under the rocks during the day. You could probably find them under the rocks. They did do a darn good job controlling aptasia in my tank though...

I bought two peppermint shrimp this weekend. I drip acclimated them for about an hour and 20 minutes and it worked out well. Both of mine only make brief appearances, if at all, while the lights are on. In fact, if i couldn't see through the caves from different angles, it would be hard to know if they're alive or not.

peppermint shrimp are nocturnal, so it's no surprise that you've not seen it. an hour or so of acclimation should be fine if the water is similar (salinity, in particular), but you can stretch it to 2 if you want to be conservative. my bet, though, is that it's doing fine and you just arent looking for it at the right time.

do you guys think that my Lubbock's Wrasse will attack a cleaner shrimp?

If they do let me know as I will buy 2 of them to play with mine......:mad2:

so far the Lubbock's Wrasse has not even pay attion to the cleaner shrimp and it been in there for 1 hour.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I paid $30.00 for my cleaner and that's a pretty expensive meal for a wrasse of any kind! I never ate a $30.00 shrimp dinner in my entire life.
