i was just changing my filter sock and found a shrimp that was clear w a blue tail does anyone know what type of shrimp this is?

How big??? may be a small mantis.

That's funny, I was thinking it could be the same thing. If he's small, he should have 2 small arms somewhere toward the front, and a lot of paddles underneath his body back by his tail.

I remember when I found a butt ugly gray one. The paddles just keep moving like he's running on a treadmill. They never stopped. While, (if it is a mantis), it may not develope the coloring of some, they can be a "different" critter to have in a small tank.

My first saltwater was a Mantis shrimp that I kept for about two years in a 10 gallon aquarium. Her name was Shakira. Was probably the most stunning animal I've ever kept as far as coloration and interesting behaviors were concerned. Fed her krill, and goldfish. Was a very sad day when she eventually died, but by then I had the LR and tank, so I started my first 10 gallon FOWLR tank, and here we are today.

no its not a manthis it looks just like a pepp shrimp with the long ten on the head its just clear
