While technially not Seaforses or Pipefish, Shrimpfish are closely related. Is anyone on here keeping them?

i've never kept them personally, but i know some very sharp SH keepers who have. they're pretty touchy, and do best in a species tank set up with photosynthetic gorgs, seagrasses, or Diadema urchins. if you're lucky, they will take frozen mysis (or can be trained to do so), otherwise, you need a mature tank with a sustained pod population.

i imagine you could also DIY one of those "mock LS urchins" like the ones folks who breed Kaudern's cardinals use if you want to go that route.

if you decide to keep them, please let us all know how it goes, and how you're keeping them.

Any idea how tall of a tank they need? I know they swim in a face down position, so Im thinking possibly they need a taller tank. But then again they are pretty secile so they may not need a taller tank.

Hi

I'v been grwoing 2 pairs for 4 months, with sea horses and pipe fish. they eating cyclop and grogonia powder food (fauna marine), i had started with 4 pairs that died with no reason, i think it's related to diet.
i feed 4-5 times a day- mysis, cyclop, red plankton, my reef has very reach live sand.
I'll appriciate other reefers experiance with these amazing fish.
