Shrinking anemone question

I have three anemones. One stays huge all the time, but the other two shrink every other day. My paired tomato clowns like both the bubble tips when they're opened, but they just keep shrinking. Then they will open up huge, but only for a day. Why? I have had them about 12 months and feed them frozen squid chunks...
