shrinking clam

hi, went and had a look at my tank today and my maxima clam has its shell fully open but it's mantle and everything inside is shrunken up, i havent changed anything and the water condition tested good, any ideas what caused it to shrink im getting really worried about it!!

by the sound of it he is already gone. as for the cause, it could have been any number of things.

need a lot more info about the tank, other inhabitants, lighting, how long you had it ect...

and if its as you described it, its dead
